Our Constitution

Imamia Medics International’s (IMI) purpose and its structure and formal accountability are set out in its Constitution.

Our core values

IMI’s inspiration is derived from the Quranic verse:

…And whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of mankind…

(Qu’ran 5:32)

This verse lies at the core of who we are and what we do.

Based on this verse, the founders’ vision for IMI has been to bring together the intellectual and professional resources of the Shia Muslim community to serve humanity. Simply put, we believe in alleviating suffering and saving lives. Period. Therefore, while our membership is restricted constitutionally, our beneficiaries include individuals from all backgrounds without regard to religious affiliation (or lack thereof).

Our mission

Imamia Medics International (IMI) provides a global platform for Shi’a Muslim health & science professionals for career development as well as the opportunity to offer health education and services to underserved populations globally.

Our organization

IMI is an organization based on worldwide voluntary membership and it consists of national chapters, regional chapters, international networks, affiliated groups and international members.

The day-to-day affairs of IMI are conducted by IMI Headquarters headed by a Chief Executive Office under the direction of the Board of Regents.
